A Letter From The President

November 8, 2021

Our Chapter meeting was a speaker's powerhouse!  I wish all members could have joined us.

First up was Bruce Turkel, CSP, CPAE, who used a visual prop strung with care from a mic stand on stage right to another on stage left. The mic stands were propped with chairs to prevent untimely slippage, and Bruce shared his inspirational message demonstrating how creativity captures and engages the audience. "Behind each page" turned, we learned a speaker's nugget to latch on to.  We all could use this method at some time during our speaking career to deliver our message.

FSA was blessed with a special treat, and a new member with Ron Karr, past president of NSA, 2013-2014, had the honor of introducing his long-time colleague and friend Bob Frare. We welcome Ron to our FSA family and thank you for sharing your kind words introducing Bob Frare.

Bob Frare, CSP, an active member and strong supporter of FSA, shared his business model of capitalizing on the diversity of services we offer and should offer our clients.  He took us "Behind the Curtain" to catch a glimpse of how to market, create, and share a message with top executives in various industries.  When we take the time to think about what we can design and offer to our clients, the opportunities are endless.  He shares hope with us as we emerge from this past year to be open to change and begin to explore areas where we can diversify our businesses to meet the needs of our clients where they are.  As Bruce shares, "It's all about them."   Bob concurs!

These two exceptional and accomplished speakers among our chapter members are very different in many ways yet have so much in common when providing a service to clients.  We should be open to learning from the vast experience of some of our chapter members, in addition to those who will be visiting us from other regions this year.  Thank you, Bruce and Bob, for sharing your nuggets of wisdom and words of inspiration and encouragement with us.  We are so blessed to have you as part of our FSA family!

"In western lands beneath the Sun the flowers may rise in Spring,
the trees may bud, the waters run, the merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night and swaying beeches bear
the Elven-stars as jewels white amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie in darkness buried deep,
beyond all towers strong and high, beyond all mountains steep,
above all shadows rides the Sun and Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the day is done nor bid the stars farewell."

- J.R.R. Tolkien / The Lord of the Rings / Return of the King

This poem tells of such hope and trust in happiness yet to come. I am sure there have been moments in our life when everything was dark and heavy; quietly read this poem and be awakened to a feeling of hope.

Come and join us on November 13!

Coming to the FSA November 13, 2021

Chuck Gallagher, CSP
In the middle of a rising career, Chuck lost everything because he made some bad choices. He has since rebuilt his career and his life back to immense success. With more vulnerability than the average keynoter, Chuck shares with his audiences his life journey, the consequences of his unethical choices, and how life gives you second chances when you make the right choices.

In fact, Chuck’s new book, SECOND CHANCES: Transforming Adversity into Opportunity, has received numerous endorsements and has been described as one of those rare books that effectively bridges the gap between personal accountability and business success.

With Chuck, you have an industry professional sharing practical tested, and time-proven methods that can enhance personal and professional performance. What Chuck shares in his presentations, whether training, keynotes, or consulting, are understandings of not only “how-to”, but also “what motivates behavior”—the behavior of individuals that can create personal and professional success.
