Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings signed an executive order requiring the use of face coverings for all people in public.  This measure aims to prevent the future spread of COVID-19.  The order went into effect on June 20 and will remain in effect until further notice. Here are some of the details and exceptions:
  • Applies to all people doing business, living, working, visiting Orange County
  • Exemptions include those under the age of 2, exercising while social distancing, those in a profession without face-to-face interaction, or those who would be impaired due to health conditions.
The county will give out free PPE kits to small businesses on June 24 through June 26. Companies with less than 40 employees can sign up for an appointment.
Withum is hosting a discussion with their SBA and Federal Tax Policy experts on June 23, 2020, regarding the nuances of the PPP Flexibility Act passed on June 5.

The discussion will cover:

  • The updated PPP Loan Forgiveness Application Forms provided by the SBA (standard and EZ applications).
  • The impact the PPP Flexibility Act has on the loan forgiveness calculation, including IFR #17 and #18.
  • The pros and cons to using a covered period of 24 weeks or 8 weeks.
  • The impact of the 60/40 rule.
  • Additional safe harbors for the FTE reductions.

The Downtown Development Board's Special Event Funding program will now provide up to $3,000 to qualifying Downtown businesses to support reopening marketing efforts.

Orange County Government
Is now accepting applications for the Small Business Grant Program and the Individual and Family Assistance Program as part of the federal CARES Act toward COVID-19 relief.
Orlando Health
Posted a refresher on how to best wear face coverings. Check it out on their Instagram page. 
In an effort to assist small businesses throughout Central Florida struggling due to COVID-19, OUC has implemented a variety of payment options and financial assistance programs.
UCF Continuing Education
In partnership with Ed2Go, are offering online professional development courses to the public for free for a limited time. These courses typically cost about $130 each, and range from successful job searches to marketing on a budget.
Zebra Coalition
Hosts a virtual Kaleidoscope Peer Support Group every Thursday, from 5:00 - 6:00 PM for Zebra members. In addition, administrative services and limited drop-in services are now open.
