prayed. We were led to proceed. We communicated the opportunity to come and learn. We added preparation to our passion to serve them in His name.

What was a thought established by the Lord (Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit your works to the Lord. And your thoughts will be established.” NKJ) The plans were God-directed (Proverbs 16:9 “The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” NASB) and the concept emerged. Planning commenced and the concept took on reality. The plans were augmented with enthusiasm. (Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, do your work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men.” NASB) and.

They came!  24 Christian Leaders from 12 organizations/churches located in five states attended the two Missionary TECH Team Fund Development Symposiums held in Longview, Texas on September 29 & 30, 2015 and October 1 & 2, 2015.

The first Symposium was designed to equip ministry organizations to raise money for their ministries in God-honoring ways.

The second one was focused on how to conduct a God-centered, Faith-based, Prayer-driven Capital Fund Campaign. During the four days of the two symposiums, 22 seminars and workshop topics were presented. Several formal table topic discussions were added to the learning experiences.

The Symposium Presenters were Birne Wiley-President, Randy Harris-Chief Operating Officer, and Gene Williams, Manager of TECH’s Ministry Development Services. The three men have over 130 years of collective successful fund development experience for Christian ministries and churches.

On a one-low to five-high basis, all Attendees were asked to rate the various topics that were presented as to the information provided as well as how it was presented. The majority of the ratings for both the information and presentations were 5 (Excellent). Thanks be to God, the Symposiums were a great success!

The Attendees were also asked to add any comments or suggestions they had to the ratings.  There were no negative comments and several very encouraging ones. For example, “Very thought provoking, inspiring. Encouraged in writing notes that have come from the Holy Spirit’s prompting while the speakers share. Now have at least 6 significant next steps. Woo Hoo!” and “Steve and I have greatly enjoyed the excellent information and encouragement during the past four days. Gene’s information has been the core of the Symposiums and he has been great. Birne and Randy have been excellent as well. We would highly recommend these Symposiums!.”

Others stated, “This was excellent and presented by seasoned brothers with expertise that can’t be quantified. Thank you!” and “Thank you for offering these Symposiums, for all the preparation, for all the hospitality of many servants of God, and for sharing many good thoughts, ideas, stories, testimonies, prayers and vision. I am taking away with me a number of thoughts to implement and to share with others. I Thessalonians 1:3”

The Symposiums were practical and thought provoking. Many aspects seem a “fit” with the heart of our ministries.” Another said, “I loved it all! I loved every part of the event. I loved the balance of the lecture, workshop, table talk, and prayer. This was all so helpful.”

The motto and vision of Missionary TECH Team is to know Christ and make Him known. Each person who attended the Symposiums went away better equipped to develop resources that can be used to do just that!

Missionary TECH Team exists to help and equip our like-minded sister ministries so that they are being used of God to further the cause of Christ is enhanced and enriched. Together, we serve and God is the great multiplier – He takes what we do and what they do and multiplies it.  As a result more than any of us can expect, ask, or imagine is accomplished!
Birne and Gene began working together 30 years ago when TECH needed assistance in developing a regular means of communications with prayer and financial partners. Currently they work together on producing the TECH Intercessor and other pieces of literature.
Several years ago Gene and Birne began to explore how they could serve more ministries by conducting symposiums and workshops that would give “hands on training” to a larger group thereby maximizing our effort
This issue of the TECH Intercessor gives highlights of our recent Symposiums. Thanks for your prayers and rejoice with us in God’s enabling of those days together.

Gene has 41 years experience helping Christian organizations and churches with fund development. He has served as Vice President for Development of a Bible College and is the retired Founder/ President of Vanguard Marketing Group of Southfield, Michigan, an advertising and marketing agency that primarily served Christian organizations. Since his retirement in 1995, Gene has helped 44 Christian organizations and churches with 52 different Fund Development projects through his ministry with TECH.
We  at Missionary TECH Team are prayerfully considering making Fund Development Symposium training opportunities available again in the near future – perhaps even on a national or regional basis - so that even more can be better equipped to develop resources that will enhance their respective ministries in effective and godly ways.  Your intercessory prayer support asking God to grant us wisdom for all decisions and to direct our planning will be greatly appreciated.  As we teach the principles of God-centered, Faith-based, Prayer-driven development of resources for ministry, may God be honored and receive all the glory for all that is accomplished.
