(Lowell Jenson, a TECH Associate working on site, shares about our project at the International Community School (ICS) in Kumasi, Ghana.)
“A celebration for the 60th year of Ghana independence started out with a parade by the students from pre-school through high school. Each class was dressed in special clothing representing the various regions of Ghana. The students and teachers circled the campus in a parade then gathered in the central courtyard area. The day was filled with each class making a special presentation to the student body at the Student Activity Center. The courtyard, now a gravel parking lot, is one of the eight areas TECH is developing. There will be a fountain in the center with three water jets and five children statues in different playful poses. The courtyard will feature four different colored pavers in the shape of a wheel with spokes plus ten flag poles displaying some of the countries students represent.”

When Lowell asked what countries the students came from, the response was:
Africa — Ghana, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Malawi
North America — United States and Canada
Asia — India, Lebanon, Japan, Palestine, China, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
Europe — Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Poland.

The International Community School Ghana has been a long time TECH project. When Charles Yeboah finished seminary in the states, he and his wife returned to Ghana with plans for him to preach and teach. They looked for a school to enroll their children in, but were unable to find one they were comfortable with. So, Mrs. Yeboah began teaching their two children at home. Soon others asked if she could teach their children as well. Originally, there was no plan to begin a school. Now, 17 years later, ICS provides Christian education for over 1,200 students in three cities in Ghana. Currently, they are looking at property in Accra, the capital, to expand the school there.

We highlight this project to show you the vast number of people it takes to accomplish the task. Perhaps you noticed in our TECH Intercessor publications over the last several years our need for additional staff and volunteers. This project highlights a variety of ways you can become involved in missions. We have Full-Time Staff, Associate Staff and Volunteer Staff and each category consists of architects, mechanical engineers, a landscape designer and a construction manager. The school project in Africa also has a local architect, civil engineer, civil/structural engineer and many local laborers. An architect and a landscape designer from our home office made two trips to Africa, and our construction manager will be on site for a total of four months.

This is just one of the 51 active Facilities Planning projects we are currently working on. Our Computer Services has a back log of projects as well. In the past year and a half, we have seen Vehicle Leasing double in size with numerous requests coming in. It is terrific to know that TECH continues to fill a unique service within the mission community. However, we wrestle with being overwhelmed or frustrated when we cannot accept a project or we have to push it off into the future. Our desire would be to respond more quickly.

Please know that God continues to bless our efforts. We desire to serve Him in a way that people would see our good work and glorify our Father in heaven. If the Lord is tugging at your heart to serve on a project either on site or from your own home, please contact us today. We have a unique opportunity to serve around the world and reach many through technical ministry! Thank you for investing in the ministry of Missionary TECH Team!
As you read this TECH Intercessor, you see the great importance of teamwork. Nehemiah 4:6 says, “So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.”
The word team was very deliberately included in the name of Missionary TECH Team. Without a team effort very little is accomplished in life. John 4:35 says, “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.” Luke 10:2 states “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

TECH’s annual meeting just concluded and one heartrending factor kept rising to the surface in our evaluations and conclusions – the project requests and challenges before us are impossible without additional qualified personnel. Volunteers working from home could meet many of the requested needs. Many more could be met with full-time missionary staff.

Would you be willing to ask God if He would like to use your particular skills and experience to enable our sister ministries to reach men, women, boys and girls for Christ? There is no greater calling than to be submissive to our dear Savior in the team effort to fulfill The Great Commission!

John 9:4 “We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work.” World conditions seem to indicate our time is short but we serve the God of the impossible – especially when as believers we live in obedience to His will and direction.
Our dear friend Warren Wiersbe wrote the book Be Determined on the book of Nehemiah. It is an outstanding encouragement for the believer in their daily walk with Christ. He dedicated this work to Missionary TECH Team and we would encourage you to get, read and apply its truths in your walk with Him! It is free upon request.
