Missionary TECH Team’s purpose is “To be the service mission that like-minded Christian organizations may turn to for technical assistance and know-how”.

Since TECH’s inception in 1969 to present day, our purpose has not changed. TECH is responsive in nature which means organizations come to us with specific needs, and we come alongside them to help reach their goals. We originally started with Facilities Planning, Architectural and Engineering services. After working with many churches and mission organizations over the years and learning more about their needs, our service grew to five areas.

One particular need was Fund Development. In 1987 TECH connected with a man from Michigan, Gene Williams, who had a specific skill set in fund development. The conversation began with exploring how he could serve with us to assist organizations with capital fund campaigns. If you have had any experience with fund development, you may know that most people flee from the thought of raising funds for buildings. Gene enthusiastically embraced the process, and God granted him success with several capital fund campaigns.

This relationship grew, and Ministry Development Services was implemented in 2002. Gene oversaw this area of ministry and he had a gift to be able to assess a financial situation and develop a plan to reach funding goals. There are many success stories of TECH designing facilities and also assisting with the finances to complete the projects.

As Gene became older and health issues were more prevalent, our desire to capture his experience and wisdom in Capital Fund Development became a top priority. In the fall of 2015, we held a four day Fund Development for Ministries and Capital Campaign symposium in our Longview office. We unveiled TECH’s fresh approach for a capital fund campaign - God Centered, Faith Based, Prayer Driven. These days were full of rich ideas that Gene developed over years of private practice and working with faith-based organizations through TECH. We had the event professionally recorded to capture the years of experience accumulated by Gene and our Founder, Birne Wiley. The response of those who attended were very positive.

Our goal was to assemble the information for distribution to assist organizations desiring to raise funds for their projects. We began the process of editing and going through all of the information dispersed during those days. Gene went to be with the Lord in September of 2016 leaving us a tremendous legacy and a clear path to continue to assist churches and mission organizations with the task of fund development. The four DVD set and 66 page workbook have been completed, and we are excited
to see how God will use this to expand His kingdom.

Some of the topics covered are:
  • Developing an Audit
  • Organizational Evaluation Criteria
  • Donor Data Information
  • Forms for Congregational Surveys
  • Guidelines for Campaign Master Planning
  • And much more!

We are happy to share this new tool with you. Information is now available on our web page at www.techteam.org.

Thank you for your interest in how God is using Missionary TECH Team around the globe in transforming thousands of lives for Christ through technical ministries. Our project loads continue to be heavy, and our workers are few. Please pray with us that God would raise up folks to join in our work. Many full time positions are needed, but you can also serve as a volunteer.

Our desire is to continue “To be the service mission that like-minded Christian organizations may turn to for technical assistance and know-how”.

A task that virtually nobody in ministry leadership enjoys is the financial undergirding development required for the organization’s sustainability.

The Lord brought Gene Williams into my life in 1987 to help meet that very need. His guidance for the next 15 years was of immense help! Simultaneously, the Lord revealed another way TECH could help our sister ministries – Ministry Development Services was initiated.

In my 50+ years of ministry service, I have never seen a more Biblical, Christ honoring program. It consists of three parts ALL of which must be implemented or a financial development program is destined for failure.

God Centered – Faith Based – Prayer Driven

Our experience is that these three elements must be carefully incorporated into any financial effort if it is to be Christ honoring and generally be successful in reaching its goals.

The DVD and manual set introduced in this TECH Intercessor is a GREAT first step. If you need some additional help in implementing such a program, please contact us to see how we might be led of God in working with you.
