Next Wednesday 9th June at 6.30pm Councillors on the Strategic Development Committee of Tower Hamlets will decide the ASDA Crossharbour scheme for up to 1,972 homes, up to 32 storeys high, a new ASDA (the store will remain open throughout), a new Primary school, and a new IDEA store. The existing petrol station will not be replaced after it closes around 2027.
Council planning officers have recommended it be approved, details here.
The Forum submitted a 15-page letter of planning related issues several weeks ago, which is here. Below in the picture from the Westferry Printworks appeal is the Councils own lawyers confirming that the Neighbourhood Plan is now part of the development plan.
So in advance of the Councils meeting this Thursday night we are arranging an online public meeting to discuss what the speakers etc should say on the night and so that the Forum can updates its own written comments, which we will then send to the Council.
The meeting will be on Zoom at 7 pm this Thursday 3rd June 2021, click on this link at 7 pm or email us if you have any issues you wish to raise in advance.
