Teacher Institute for the Arts: Colloquium & Expansion
The first cohort of day school educators participated in the Teacher Institute for the Arts, an inspiring 3-day colloquium in the US this past May, where they presented their year-long projects created with their respective student bodies and staff. Kol HaOt personnel, who design and lead the Institute, trained these specially-selected Jewish studies and art teachers in Kol HaOt’s methodology of integrating the visual arts into their Jewish studies programs. Watch a video of one of the projects.
Recruitment has begun for a second cohort for June, 2017. Recommendations for prospective schools should be sent to email@example.com.
We are also running an extension program for graduates of the first cohort, to enable them to continue nurturing the creative potential of art, and bring new vitality to Jewish learning in their schools.
Opened in 2015, the Institute was created and is generously funded and overseen by a national Jewish foundation dedicated to raising the quality of instruction and learning in Jewish education.
