Worship This Week:
All Saints Sunday
2 Timothy 1:3-9a
This month, the Power of One offering will benefit
Meals on Wheels of the Lehigh Valley.
|
|
This week, we'll hold our annual celebration of All Saints Sunday. On All Saints Sunday, we remember those we have loved and lost -- especially those we've lost during the past year. We read each name, light a candle, ring a bell, and honor their memories. We hope you will join us for this meaningful time of worship!

Church Movie Night
Join us in the sanctuary for a church movie night on Saturday November 5 at 6:30 PM. We'll be showing Disney's Coco -- a delightful feel-good movie for kids and adults alike! As we experience the movie, we'll also make some meaningful connections between that story and our own celebration of All Saints Day. We hope to see you there!

Catching Up with Pastor Candy
This week, I experienced double the joy as I participated in both our preschool and church "Trunk of Treat" programs! Many thanks to all who donated candy, decorated trunks, handed out treats, and brought their children to enjoy these special celebrations. It is truly a joy to celebrate these moments as a church family!

"The Game of Rent" at First Pres
Our neighbors at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem (2344 Center St.) invite you to join them on Tuesday November 15 at 7 PM for an eye-opening experience of "The Game of Rent." This program will focus on affordable housing -- an issue that confronts countless neighborhoods and families here in Bethlehem and across our country. "The Game of Rent" is a board game-style simulation designed to spark productive conversation. In the words of its creators: “using local data (we’ll be using a version specially designed for the Lehigh Valley) and the luck of the draw, the Game helps build empathy and awareness around housing issues.”
If you have questions, please contact First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem via email. If you plan to attend, please click here to register.

To enter, sign up using the link below. (If you want to help with set-up or clean-up, please use the same link.) Once each month, we provide hot meals, monitor the shower schedule, and offer a loving presence to the guests of the shelter. We will be serving our first meal on Monday, November 21. We'll be at the shelter from 4 PM to 9 PM, but shorter shifts are available to fit your schedule. To get involved, please contact our coordinator Becky Hess.

Depot News
In our recent newsletter, we wrote about our support for refugees, and this was a week where that was at the forefront. Two of our volunteers came in on Wednesday (a day we are not ordinarily open) so that representatives from Bethany Christian Services could choose furnishings for two families—one from Lebanon and one from Columbia—who are arriving next week. Thanks to the generosity of our doors, we were able to provide the needed basics plus some decorative items to add that homey feel.
Furniture items we are in need of at the moment are table and chair sets, dressers, and end tables.
