The anticipation, the wait, the nerves, the preparation done – now, time for action! No, not the Rugby World Cup but the return of the children!

That’s how it felt when the gates opened on that first day, when somehow it’s all ‘real’. How good it has been to hear the school is buzzing with the sound of children again: the purposeful ‘hum’ of the older children as they focus on their tasks, the laughter of year 2 children revelling in their maths game, the exuberance of the y3 children racing around the playground, the pure joy of the Early Years children exploring the site … and so many more sights and sounds.

Moving happily into Reception
Reception children have been very excited to reunite with their friends after the summer holidays. They have returned to school with renewed excitement and energy!  We would all like to welcome our two new children in RM, Timo and Elisabetta.
KS2 is growing!
We’ve grown! It was lovely to welcome back a buoyant and somewhat bigger Key Stage 2 this term.  Not only had they all grown in height over the holidays (many significantly!), but the classes have got bigger too.  We now have 67 children in Key Stage 2 compared to just over 50 this time last year.

The first Games session of the year proved to be anything other than a gentle warm up session as all of Key Stage 2 competed in the Inaugural Fitness Challenge - the first sporting House Competition of the year. This event is held in the school playground and includes running through a cone slalom, jumping over benches, climbing over the rope frame, stepping through tyres, as well as crawling through tunnels, over frames and under nets.
