It has been another extremely productive month at The Beani Bazar Cancer & General Hospital. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary of Hospital services, since opening in 2015, we took part in World Cancer Day activities, and visited schools here in the U.K.
BBCGH team have been working behind the scenes to get ready for our Charity Fundraising Dinner and 4th Annual Awards Ceremony on the 21st March 2017.
The 4th February marking World Cancer Day, a day to unite the world in the fight against cancer. Currently more than 8 million people die from cancer every year across the world. This number is estimated to grow, year on year. Therefore, it is vital we carry on doing the work we are doing to work on prevention projects as well as providing cancer care to those most disadvantaged. As part of World Cancer Day, we held an impactful event and a rally to highlight the campaign, continue to spread awareness and education of the deadly disease, and how our hospital is working to both prevent and treat patients.
On 15th February 2017 we had a special visit for our second anniversary since opening the hospital in 2015. This was a special occasion which shows how far the vision has come since 2009, which is only possible with your much needed support and contribution. We were honoured to have special guests join us on the day including Jonathan Ashworth MP (Shadow Health Secretary), Rt hon Dame Rosie Winterton MP, Howard Dawber MD Canary Wharf group, Sayed Abdul Bashar GS Labour Friends of Bangladesh, received by our honourable Fundraising Director Mr Md Abdul Shafik, along with our trustee Mr M A Gani, who was also present.
As part of our work here in the U.K. we are developing partnerships with schools. We visited Keir Hardie Primary School for an assembly to promote Cancer Awareness to the pupils, and how the school can get involved to help raise further funds. We are very honoured and can Proudly say Eastlea Secondary School have chosen to be our partner school, and will be raising funds for BBCGH in many years to come.
Here in the UK, BBCGH team are preparing for our Charity Fundraising Dinner & 4th Annual Awards to take place on the 21st March 2017, at the Royal Regency Hall. This is an important event in our calendar as we aim to reach more people who are in desperate need of cancer care. The event will recognise the support we have been given by our life members without whom we would not be at the stage we are at.
The night will also be an occasion to raise vital funds to take our project forward into phase 2. The night will be a mix of entertainment including Ehsaan Nasheed artist, performances from Keir Hardie Primary School, Eastlea Secondary School and Kingston University Drama Society. We will have an exciting auction with amazing items that will help raise funds. We would love for you to be in attendance and join us together with your friends and family.
For the hospital to continue to develop we need your continuous support and contribution. We once again thank everyone who has volunteered their time, energy and resources for the hospital. We look forward to seeing you on the 21st March.
