Dear Sophie's Patch Fellow Gardeners,

Thank you so much for your support this year as I firmly believe gardeners make a positive difference to the world.

Recent major events, including the pandemic and natural disasters, have highlighted the importance of community and I have always been a firm believer that gardening has a major role to play in the health and well being of so many.  As I have once again started travelling nationally this has been reinforced, as has my desire to play a part in educating people about our environment and how we can make a difference in the wonderful country we all share.
The pandemic has introduced many, including young people and children, to the importance of sustainability and the need to be able to grow our own food.  Climate change has shown us that what we took for granted is not necessarily the case.  My two Open Gardens this year have delighted me by the attendance of not only serial returnees, but the number of first timers and newbies wanting to learn more about the delights of gardening.
All in all, it's been a year of challenges for so many, and as we head into the New Year, I want you to know that your support has been truly valued by my family, my support team and myself.
I wish you and yours a happy, peaceful and safe festive season and look forward to meeting up with you at one of our Sophie's Patch events or on my travels in the New Year.

Happy Gardening in 2023!

Sophie
