Jane Chang Mi The Taste Of Purity
at Adjunct Positions
 "Jane Chang Mi’s practice is informed by her training as an ocean engineer. She considers land politics and postcolonial ecologies through her interdisciplinary and research-based work, exploring the traditions and narratives associated with environment."
(Eagle Rock, Friday 8-10pm)
Perform Chinatown 2015: RUSH HOUR
A free festival celebrating live performance work. Curated by Molly Shea (ESXLA), this day-long event will feature endurance-based pieces, public engagement works, dance and movement pieces, stand-up comedy, karaoke, micro-parades, spoken word, noise, and experimental music.

COME & GO presents Jibade Khalil Huffman 
at Blum & Poe
A live presentation of a new work "MANTRA". Come review memory, community, misogyny, identity, police brutality, coded language, reportage, the multitude of wonderful contradictions in the work of Nicki Minaj and Drake, rap videos, adolescence and death.
(Culver City, Saturday 1-3pm)
Stefan Hoza Finally Buff at Secret Recipe
For their final exhibition, Secret Recipe will present a solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based painter, Stefan Hoza. As always: Come for the art, stay for the party. 

(Silverlake, Saturday 7pm-1am)
Hard Edged at California African American Museum "Geometrical Abstraction and Beyond" 
A group exhibition with works by Brenna Youngblood, Noah Purifoy, David Hammons, Rashid Johnson, Samuel Levi Jones, Karl Petion, Devn Troy Strother and more. 
(Exposition Park, Saturday 12-2pm)
WOAH Last-Look:
Mark Hagen The Outdoor Type at JOAN
Central to the site-specific installation is the interconnected grid evoked through the modular sculpture Ramada. Hagen is the conceptual cartographer here: mapping a tableau of physical space while suggesting the elasticity and temporality existing within and beyond the architecture inherent to it’s visible spectrum.  Accessible by appointment only and extended through Aug 16.
