Breakfast at TIFF serves up
real-life stories as screen inspiration
We're back on Monday, December 5!

You don’t have to delve too deep into the pages of newspapers, magazines and biographies to find real-life stories that grip readers.
These tales of real people can offer the character complexity and life-altering stakes that we look for in movies. But when it comes to true-life stories — how complex are screen adaptations, what legal issues must be navigated, and who do you negotiate with?

Don’t miss our final Breakfast at TIFF of 2016, Based on a True Story, where we’ll debate and explore the merits of source material that is derived from real life.

Panelists include Toronto Life editor Sarah Fulford, Hall Webber lawyer Jordan Nahmias, and Tom Alexander, Director of Theatrical Releasing at Mongrel Media. Additional speakers will be announced soon.
