OSHA'S 3RD ANNUAL NATIONAL SAFETY STAND-DOWN
May 2-6, 2016
Falls in the construction industry remain the leading cause of industry deaths. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (Feb 2016) in 2014 there were 874 worker fatalities, or 1 in 5 workers. Of these, 349 were from falls at height. In its third year, OSHA will once again be dedicating another week-long campaign to their continued efforts of bringing awareness to fall prevention in construction. Employers are highly encouraged to take the time to participate by using the workday to educate and remind their employees on the risks of working at height.
