The 2018 Annual Conference of the NC Captive Insurance Association Comes to a Close

(Southern Pines)….. At 12:30 on Wednesday, August 22th the Annual Conference of the NC Captive Insurance Association came to a close after the much coveted tax and law update presented by Chaz Lavelle and Bruce Wright. This year’s conference drew nearly 200 attendees and the largest field ever for the golf tournament.

In parting comments President & CEO Tom Adams told the attendees that the 2019 conference will be held August 21-23 at Charlotte’s Ballantyne Hotel. The conference will follow a different pattern from previous conferences in that activities such as the Board meeting, golf tournament and opening plenary session will begin on Wednesday rather than Monday and conclude on Friday.

This year’s conference featured 10.5 hours of continuing education credits for attorneys and CPAs. Individuals needing help with credit for those hours should contact Lane Brown at 703.773.0008. The Wednesday, September 5th edition of CAPTIVE INSURANCE TIMES will carry extensive coverage by reporters John Savage and Ben Wodecki of the content from this year’s conference.

Be sure to take time to review that content. If you missed the conference it will make you wish you could have been with us.
