Hello Charlestown Families and Friends,
I am planning Stars Wars Field Day and was wondering if you have something Star Wars related that Charlestown can borrow. It can be anything big or small, an idea or prop. I am open for anything. The students are excited! Below are the t-shirt designs for the students and staff.

The Charlestown 5th Grade Class of 2020 presents "Go West" by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson. There's gold in them thar hills! Gold has been discovered in the hills of California. Land is being given away to settlers willing to make a fresh start in the newly explored regions of the American West. Cowpokes and miners, farmers and trappers, gamblers and adventurers of all kinds are making their way west to chase the promise of the American Dream. They come by way of wagon train, horseback, steamboat and railroad. "Go West" combines music, history and drama to explore important facts about the westward expansion of the early US and discovers that real wealth is not always the kind made into ingots and jewelry. Real wealth is found in inspiring new ideas, fresh starts and attainable dreams in the land of the free

Did you know that Girl Scout Troop 4822 is helping Charlestown Elementary recycle used plastic markers? If you have any used up markers, including dry-erase markers or plastic highlighters, please put them in the orange bucket in the hallway near the main lobby across from the elevator. All brands are accepted. Girl Scouts will be sending them off to Crayola to be recycled through its Color Cycle program. You can help by going through your markers at home and at school and finding the ones that no longer work. Instead of throwing them away, recycle! Thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Warren (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Joanne Tidwell (email@example.com).
Tickets on Sale for GV Drama Guild's Footloose
Based on the Original Screenplay
When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher.
When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.
