How an Alum Created a Promo for BET's American Injustice
“When I was a student at FIT, I didn’t even know my job existed,” says Jo-Well Paupaw, a senior writer and producer for BET. An Advertising and Marketing Communications alumna, Paupaw conceptualizes, writes, and produces campaigns for BET’s TV shows, movies, specials, and social impact and brand image campaigns. Recently, Paupaw described for Hue the process of making a promo to advertise BET’s program, American Injustice: The Fight for Police Reform. The 30-second spot required exacting precision and attention to detail. Watch the promo, and read how she developed it.

Three 2020 Fashion Design graduates—Nidhi Bhasin, Zhuo Ran (Jenny) Feng, and Melissa Posner—were featured in the Aug. 25 online edition of The New York Times as well as the on the front page of the paper’s Thursday Styles print version on Aug. 27 for their work redesigning the Girl Scouts of the USA uniforms and creating an official apparel collection.
