Holiday Windows in Pandemic Times
In a year of upheaval and uncertainty, holiday window displays bring a welcome dose of cheer. This year, it seems that the pandemic has pushed retailers to make them better. “The quality of windows is really fantastic this year,” says Anne Kong, associate professor of Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design. “There were a lot of tactile elements that sent warm messaging virtues: gratitude, strength, equality, justice, and diversity.”  Read more

Public School designers teamed with FIT scientist and professor for biodegradable sneakers grown from bacteria and dyed with natural dyes, for the One x One initiative.
Assistant Professor of Science and Math Theanne Schiros worked with New York–based fashion label Public School to create a lab-grown, naturally dyed, biodegradable pair of sneakers, WWD reports. “This has all the properties to make an impact on an industry,” Schiros says.
