FEATURED STORY
Diversity Comic Con Returns to FIT
While the medium of comic books has been around for almost a century, the presence of minorities—as both subjects and creators—has been sorely lacking. But times are changing, and the participation and visibility of multicultural art and stories are more crucial than ever. For its second year, Diversity Comic Con, part of FIT’s Civility Week, celebrates this work with a full day of panel discussions, portfolio reviews, an Artists’ Alley, and a cosplay pageant. New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast is this year’s keynote speaker. The event will be held on Friday, October 25, from 10 am to 6 pm and is open to the public, but registration is requested. Find out more at diversitycomiccon.com.
