15th Annual Sustainable Business and Design Conference: Changemakers in Action
Join us for this year's virtual conference focusing on changemakers in sustainability, April 13 through April 16. The keynote lineup for this virtual event includes FIT alumna Stacy Flynn, co-founder and CEO of Evrnu; Eileen Fisher, founder of Eileen Fisher; Abrima Erwiah, co-founder and president of Studio One Eighty Nine, and Dr. Mark Liu, pioneer in zero-waste fashion design. The conference program will spotlight leadership in social justice, diversity, corporate responsibility, and innovation in the fashion industry. “Her work was overwhelmingly pretty," said Elizabeth Way, assistant curator of costume at The Museum of FIT, quoted in a New Yorker profile of groundbreaking Black fashion designer Ann Lowe. "It wasn’t radical, or meant to be. Even in the sixties, she was still inspired by the nineteenth century, and by a nostalgic ideal of femininity. Yet I also think it’s important to appreciate what breathtaking courage she had.”
