To the FIT community,

Today's scheduled test of the FIT Alert emergency communications system has been moved from 1 pm to 3 pm.

FIT has a system called FIT Alert for sending emergency communications to employees and students. Communications may include alerts about extreme weather, fire, or flood conditions; violence on campus; or public health emergencies. Alerts can come in the form of emails, text messages, and/or phone calls. To ensure that you receive FIT Alerts at your desired contact points, we will be conducting a test of the system for all FIT students, faculty, and staff on Wednesday, October 21, at 3 pm. For more information on FIT Alert, including managing your preferences, please visit

We ask that you please review the college's preparedness plan for more information about what to do in the event of an emergency. If you prefer, you may contact me, Mario Cabrera, director of Public Safety, for office or department training support.

Mario Cabrera
Director of Public Safety
