Clearing the way

As winter weather returns, our De Pere Public Works crews will be out often to help clear a safe path for you. That said, here's just a friendly reminder to please drive carefully, give yourself extra time (when possible), put away distracting devices and slow down when roads are slippery. For a detailed look at City of De Pere street snowplowing guidelines, please view this link.

Important Items To Know!

Weigh in on the future of De Pere's aquatic facilities

A public input forum will be hosted by the Board of Park Commissioners on Monday, Jan. 7, to obtain feedback on the design of the City of De Pere's future aquatic facilities. These facilities will replace the current pools at VFW and Legion Park.

The forum will be held at 6 p.m. in the De Pere Community Center's lower level.

If you are not able to attend but would still like to offer feedback, here is a link to an online survey where you may share your thoughts:

REMINDER: 48 hours to clear sidewalks in winter

De Pere Public Works would like to give a friendly reminder that snow and ice must be removed from all sidewalks within 48 hours after a winter storm, in accordance with Section 22.18 of the Municipal Code.
If sidewalks, which include handicap ramps and corner walkways, are not kept clean, the City has the option of removing the snow and ice and billing the abutting property owner.

REMINDER: It's time to get your dog & cat licenses

Dog and Cat Licenses are purchased and renewed between Jan.1 and March 31 each year. The cost for spayed/neutered dogs & cats is $6 and unspayed/unneutered dogs and cats is $12. After March 31, there is a late fee of $5 per license for renewals. A rabies certificate from the veterinarian that lists the date of the rabies vaccination, name, breed, color and spayed/neutered status is required for each dog/cat. This can be done through the mail for those unable to come into City Hall during office hours. For your convenience, a dog application can be found here and a cat application can be found here

Your kids may be getting a little stir crazy this winter right? Well, our Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department hosts Youth Rec Nights each Wednesday evening through March. It's an open gym program for kids between 3rd and 7th grade, held at Westwood Elementary School. Participants have the opportunity to play whatever games they'd like, ranging from basketball, dodgeball, kickball and more. The open gym is from 6 to 8 p.m. One important thing to note, though, is you must buy a pass. Day passes are $3.75 for City of De Pere residents and $5.75 for non-residents. Or you can buy a season pass for $25 (res) or $40 (non-res.)
