International RJ Week 2015
(15-22 November)

This year, several events will take place in Leuven during the International RJ Week:

15-18 Nov: ALTERNATIVE Conference (including the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Dutch RJ Journal)

18 Nov: RJ Afternoon dedicated to the celebration of the RJ Week, including

       - Norwegian theatre play on RJ
       - book 'Hotel Pardon' presented by the author and                panel discussion
       - celebration of the 15th anniversary of the EFRJ
       - film screening 'Beyond Punishment' presented by a            Belgian mediator

20 Nov: Day on RJ & diversity 'Conflicthantering op maat van het individu, diversiteit als uitgangspunt' 
organised by the Flemish mediation centre Suggnome'
Organise your own 'RJ Week' event!
Check the website of the Correctional Service Canada if you want to get ideas for developing your own 'RJ Week' event! In the website, you can find resources and templates to be used for your own event. Feel free to write us so that your event is given visibility on the EFRJ website and social media.
ALTERNATIVE Films Online Platform


As part of the ALTERNATIVE project, a series of films have been collected in this online platform. Among others, watch the films produced locally in each action research site (Austria, Hungary, Northern Ireland and Serbia) and listen to the interviews with the researchers! Feel free to spread this link and invite your colleagues to attend the final conference of the ALTERNATIVE project!

Training on Family Mediation and Conflict Management
Registration is still open for the Training on Family Mediation and Conflict Management organised by C.R.I.S.I. (Bari, Italy) during the year 2015/2016. The course (in Italian only) will begin on 9 and 10 October 2015. Deadline for registration: 20 September 2015.
Restorative Practices Programme at Ulster University

Since 2003, Ulster University delivers a 'Restorative Practices Programme' for people working in the fields of youth and criminal justice, education, victim support, community service, conflict resolution in intercultural settings. Find here the calendar of the Programme in 2015/2016. Most of the courses can be completed through distance learning.


IIRP Europe- Courses for professional development
The International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) Europe is organising the following courses for professional development:
'Building Bridges' project: final conference in Rome

The conference of the EU-funded project 'Building Bridges (BB)' will take place in Rome on 19-20 November 2015. BB is a RJ-related project focusing on building bridges between offenders and victims of crime. Over two years (2014-15) nine European partners developed, piloted and evaluated a programme which brings together groups of unrelated victims of crime and offenders (prisoners or ex-prisoners) for ‘restorative dialogue’ and learning. International Day of Peace: Make your own cartoon!

This is the month for celebrating the International Day of Peace! On 21 September a series of events will take place across the globe. Among others, the 'Just Peace Festival' will take place in The Hague (The Netherlands). You can contribute to this day by submitting your thoughts in the form of tweets, sketches, comments and photos, and professional cartoonists will turn them into real cartoons. The theme of the 2015 is 'my peace, your peace' to reflect how we all depend on each other to create a sustainable peace. Within this broad theme, the project will focus on women and peace, peace and security and peaceful resolution of conflictsMore info here!

                                          Music of inspiration

In occasion of the International Day of Peace, we want to inspire you with some music as a weapon for peace! 'Playing for Change Foundation', a movement to build social change, performs here 'War- No More Trouble'.
