The African Heritage Festival is a celebration of unity, culture, art and history across the African Diaspora.  It is a joyous two-day event for the whole family with great food, music, dance, sports, fashion, cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, resources for healthy living and so much more. Join us for this exciting celebration of African, African-American, and Caribbean cultures!

Opening Ceremony

7-9pm,  Kentucky Center for African American Heritage

A cultural reception featuring the art of quilter Sunshine Joe Mallard, performances by the artists of Roots & Wings, refreshments and more!

This exciting tournament features 8 teams from Louisville and several states with players representing the USA, Africa and the Caribbean.

Expect lots of educational, cultural, and just plain fun activities for young people, including inflatables, Jerald the Science Guy, crafts and more!


 
Volunteers Needed!
7:00am - 8:00pm

We will need lots of volunteers to help make the African Heritage Festival a success. Please lend a hand for a few hours, then enjoy yourself for the rest of the day!
