creative:impact

Tune in Tuesday mornings at 7:49 & 9:49 a.m. on WEMU 89.1FM.

Co-hosted by David Fair & Deb Polich
creative:impact features creative people and industry experts who live, have creative practices, jobs and businesses in Washtenaw County. They lead the sector locally, nationally and internationally and are the driving forces making Washtenaw County one of Michigan's strongest and most vibrant arts and creative industry hubs.
May 21 - The Artistic and Rich Humanity of the Incarcerated
The Prison Creative Arts Project at the University of Michigan began nearly three decades ago and, as WEMU’s David Fair and Deb Polich from the Arts Alliance found out, it is changing lives. They speak to two of the project's instructors, Vanessa Mayesky and Cozine Welch, Jr., in this "creative:impact." Listen here!
May 28 - Preserving and Sharing the Legacy of Ragtime Music
Jazz historian Dr. Karl Koenig has built one of the world's most extensive collections of jazz and ragtime music. Recently, he selected the River Raisin Ragtime Revue, or R4, in Tecumseh to maintain and preserve his collection. R4 founder and executive director William Pemberton joins WEMU's David Fair and Arts Alliance CEO Deb Polich to talk about this amazing undertaking in this week's "creative:impact." Listen here!

Help Decide and Get the Inside View – Serve on a Region 9 Minigrant Review Panel

Serving as a minigrant reviewer is a fabulous way to learn about grant writing and review from the funder’s perspective. Reviewers read and score all submitted grant applications before attending the review panel to discuss the applications. Past reviewers have reported that serving on a panel improved their grant-writing and helped them learn about regional arts organizations, their projects and goals.

Want to help decide? Apply to be on the minigrant jury by clicking here.
