Tune in Tuesday mornings at 7:49 & 9:49 a.m.
on WEMU 89.1FM
Co-hosted by The Arts Alliance’s Deb Polich and WEMU’s Morning Edition host David Fair, creative:impact features creative people and industry experts who live, have creative practices and jobs, own creative businesses in Washtenaw County and lead the sector locally, nationally and internationally. They are the driving forces making Washtenaw County one of Michigan's strongest and most vibrant arts and creative industry hubs.

March 26 - Bringing the New U-M Natural History Museum to Life

The University of Michigan's Natural History Museum has moved to the Biological Sciences Building on campus and is getting ready for an April 14th grand re-opening!   In this week's "creative:impact," WEMU's David Fair and Arts Alliance CEO Deb Polich talk about what it takes to carry such a massive redesign project with the museum's capital project manager, Lynne Friman. Listen here!

April 2 - Ann Arbor's R.J. Fox: Teacher, Author and Screenwriter

Welcome to the Team, Lisa Gavan and Barbara Morris!

This spring is all about new beginnings! We are excited to have Lisa Gavan, our new program manager, and Barbara Morris, a film studies intern, join The Arts Alliance team. Join us in welcoming them!
Lisa Gavan will receive her Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Eastern Michigan University this month. While there, she served as the graduate assistant for the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) and was a student ambassador for the National NLA organization. She received her BA in biomedical and fine art photography from the College for Creative Studies in 2004. Gavan is a professional photographer and opened her photography studio in 1998. Other creative gigs include being the stage manager for the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, operations assistant for the Guild of Artists and Artisans, and an exhibition installation assistant at the U-M Stamps Gallery.
Barbara Morris is on track to graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Electronic Media and Film Studies with a minor in African American studies. She created a short 10-minute film called “Campus: Unknown” with fellow electronic media students in 2016 and is currently working as a production assistant with The Arts Alliance weekly NPR segment, creative:impact. Morris creates small video-editing projects that she uploads to YouTube in her spare time.
