"Watch Me"

Bottom Line: Love and serve those around you, those who are right there, catch the opportunities that you have daily to imitate Christ.

Scripture Used:  Phil 3:17, 1 Cor 1:11, John 13:12-15, John 13:34,35, Matt 22:37-40, Rom 13:9, Gal 5:14, James 2:8, Luke 10:25-37, 1 Cor 13:1-3.

1. As a follower he has asked us to imitate him to the best of our ability, and has promised us the power of the Holy Spirit when our best isn’t enough.

2. He has given us his word, the gospels, the letters, so that we have an example to imitate.

3.“Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man." - Benjamin Franklin

4. In your walk with Christ, use each day as a “fresh start” and as an opportunity to know and love God and his  Word more than you have before.

5. Loving others isn’t easy, It requires selflessness and intentionality.

6. It means that when people watch our lives and the way we love others, they should be drawn to the person of Jesus.

7. Loving your neighbor isn’t just thinking compassionate thoughts for them. It’s active, and requires action.

8. “Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone”  - Andy Stanley

9. Often, we get so distracted with what is in front of us, that we miss the needs and the hearts of the people around us—at work, at the store, at the ballgame, at life, and at home.

10. As you go about your day-to-day life, what are you thinking about?  What are you paying attention to? Are you looking for people who might need a word of hope, encouragement, or even just a smile?

Join us this Sunday as we continue the new series "Watch Me."  We are going to examine the command to “Love your neighbor as yourself”.  We see Christ time and time again loving and having compassion for everyone.  Loving others isn’t easy. It requires selflessness and intentionality. It means embracing awkward situations, at times. It means doing more than just everyday normal life.

New Series – Becoming Nothing In Philippians 2:5-7 We have Jesus whom made himself nothing in the form of a servant. Although he was by nature equal to God the father, he humbled himself as the example for our earthly relationships.
