THE ART THAT WON THE WAR
Reception & Commemorative Event: May 7, 5-7:30 pm
The Art That Won The War is an exhibit curated by Celia Miller-Morrissey, the Donna Moravec Gallery Director. This exhibit will include an extensive visual tribute to the history of Lowry and the role it played in World War II. Additionally, the exhibit will include the works of CCA students who are themselves WWII veterans, propaganda posters, uniforms, visual and audio elements, and a rare collection of WWII artifacts on loan from the Pueblo Weisbrod Aviation Museum.
The Reception, on Thursday May 7th, 5-7:30pm, will feature WWII reenactors dressed in authentic uniform, a convoy of WWII vehicles and equipment on display, music, and a drawing to win tickets to the biggest 1940s event in Colorado, the 1940s Ball at the Denver Airport. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the general public. Families are welcome!
