The 1, 2, 3's of Your Trees

As Lowry's trees mature, we are enjoying the benefit of a beautiful, shady tree canopy.  Last week the City of Denver completed their tree audit in Lowry and identified ways that we can continue to Which trees should you be maintaining?  Unless you live in a sub-association that maintains your landscaping, any tree that is on your property OR in the tree lawn - the grassy strip between the sidewalk and the street adjacent to your property - is your responsibility to maintain.

1.  Replace Dead or Dying Trees:

2.  Prune Your Trees:

  • Tree branches overhanging the sidewalk or street must be 8' or higher from ground level.  Remove low-hanging branches or trim them back.
  • Remove dead branches - they pose a safety hazard!
  • Promote tree health by doing selective branch pruning - a tree company can help with this or there are a lot of how-to's on-line.
3.  Treat Trees for Pests:
