Ramblings and Such

I've been trying to tackle my studio again. It's an ongoing battle of organizational madness. I prefer to call it Creative Chaos rather than the first symptoms of hoarding. As everyone knows, you can never have too many art supplies.

The main problem is that I find a clean workspace inspiring. You would think that would be a good thing, but as soon as I get one work table cleared off, I'm suddenly making twenty five donut beads, or sculpting a dragon rather than finishing the rest of the room. And then my nice clear space is gone again. But I figure as long as I'm claying, it's all good.

And if anyone else has a similar situation, take comfort in the fact that you're not alone. We had everyone in my clay guild bring in real life pictures of their work spaces. No Martha Stewert sanitized versions of 'creative spaces' created by decorators with 6 tubes of paint and twenty yards of chintz there. Nope, these were real studios, with projects all over the place and delightful stacked and towering piles of 'stuff' that we all wanted to dig through.

So... Organize and declutter as much as you can. But don't let it get in the way of creating or being happy. :)
