eBook Special Edition

Volume 1, Issue 3

We have a new system for checking out eBooks from the library to your iPads and personal devices.  Just visit our Overdrive library site and log in with your MCDS username and password.   You can start checking out ebooks today!  Because it's online you can check out books 24/7 even during school breaks and from anywhere with internet access (I've checked out books from SF Public Library's Overdrive while in Scotland.)

Overdrive is compatible with many devices including iPads, Chromebooks, Kindles, Nooks, and Kobos.  Visit Overdrive's getting started page for more information (or click on the device links above to get specific advice.)  Stop by the library or email library@mcds.org if you have any questions or need any help.

Our eBook collection is just starting and has lots of growing to do.  If you would like us to add an eBook to the collection fill out the book request form on the Upper School Corner page of the library website.  Not all eBooks are available, but we love book suggestions and will purchase the books that we can.

Browse the eBooks we currently own at the Pinterest page below.  For suggestions try watching our Overdrive eBook trailer YouTube playlist or look at our Librarian Picks.

When a child's eyes don't match, it means that they have been Graced.  Katsa discovered her Grace when she was eight--the day she killed a grown man with a single blow. When the king found out that she had a killing Grace, he was eager to use her to punish his enemies and scare his people into submission. Katsa hates being the King's enforcer, but she can't change her Grace, and she can't disobey a King. At least, that's what always thought... read more
Frankie is used to being underestimated. Most people look at her and see a naive girl, her father's 'bunny rabbit.' So when she wants to join the top-secret (and all-boys) Loyal Order of the Basset Hounds, it's not surprising that they won't let her in. But Frankie has more intelligence, gumption, and courage than they realize.  She's determined to get herself into the Order—whether they want her or not...read more
