Children and Young People

September 2016

As the calmness of Autumn arrives following a packed summer of holiday clubs and adventures there seems to be a sense of reflection before the Advent and Christmas rush descends. During several visits recently topics of conversations have included “something new, development, growth and formation.” It has been exciting to engage with parishes, volunteers and projects that have spent time reflecting on what their priorities actually are, rather than what they think they ought to be doing.  There has been encouragement, learning and hope in unexpected places with children and young people at the very heart of the vision. Within the team there is also “new, development and formation”. Both Sarah & I have moved teams and are now within MACE (Mission & Community Engagement) having moved from the Board of Education. This time is new and we are discovering aspects of formation and development ourselves. We would value your prayers and thoughts whilst this exciting journey starts and we continue with all the various ways of working, engaging & journeying with you in your ministry.  All our relevant information and resources can now be found on the Rochester Diocesan Website under Mission, Children & Youth, take a look. http://www.rochester.anglican.org/mission/children-and-youth/

The Advent Sleepout Challenge is making an exciting return this year! We're asking churches and communities to give up a night of comfort to raise funds for those who are homeless and marginalised.
