Book for Thought:

One common narrative of intellectual history avows that from the fall of Rome to the 15th century Europe stagnated in an intellectual “dark ages” under the suppressive influence of the Catholic church, only to be liberated when the scientific revolution ushered in an era of enlightenment and progress. In The Genesis of Science: How the Christian Middle Ages Launched the Scientific Revolution, James Hannam shows that this narrative is historically inaccurate. Instead, Christians led to many scientific breakthroughs in the Middle Ages and paved the way for the unfolding of the scientific revolution by a theological search to understand God’s creation.

Thank you Dr. Bradley McCoy for the recommendation!
