Ongoing Alumni Engagement Opportunities

DRC and DISA alumni are valued members of our disaster research community and, as such, play a vital role in educating the next generation of disaster science practitioners and scholars. DRC offers many ways for alumni to stay involved. Check out how you can engage with the DRC community!

Share Your Experience

Each semester our faculty and students discuss emergency management research, current issues, and trends in our classes, seminars, and at IAEM@UD functions.  We are always interested in having our alumni speak live or virtually.  Email with your name, contact information and a brief statement of what you're interested in speaking about and a DRC faculty member will contact you to discuss upcoming opportunities.

Keep In Touch

Stay connected to DRC throughout the year: follow the Disaster Research Center on Facebook, join our Alumni Group for information about upcoming alumni activities and DRC happenings, and update your contact information to help us better communicate with you.

Alumni Profile Series

Share how your time at DRC has enhanced your career thus far by participating in our Alumni Profiles series. Submit this online form or download the PDF version and email it to

Host an Intern or Practicum Student

Several of our programs include a practicum or internship component.  These are designed to be meaningful for the organization as well as for the students. During the placement, students connect their experiences and prior coursework through weekly reflection pieces. Some students stay in the Mid-Atlantic area while others have found wonderful opportunities around the country. Interested in hosting a student practicum? Contact
