Some parents and ASV graduates contributed sharing their own experience.

Exploring South Florida during the Second Week of the Global Exchange in Naples

ASV and CSN students taking part in the global exchange to Naples had a field trip to the Florida Everglades. That is a must-see national park in South Florida, and it has been part of the sightseeing activities since the very first year of this global exchange program. The ASV expedition also visited Florida Gulf Coast University,  a public university located in Fort Myers, part of the public university system of Florida. Apart from following classes at CSN and using the daily study halls to complete their home assignments, our students were invited to join a multitude of  extracurricular activities. Aron Bocking (7th Grade) appeared recently in a photo gallery published by the Naples Daily News reporting on the successful season of the CSN Men’s Soccer Team.
On Tuesday, we are at the halfway point of the Second Trimester for Preschool and Elementary.  This is a good time to check PowerSchool to evaluate your child’s progress. Please address any related doubts or clarification to the appropriate teacher.

Theater play: Adventures in the Jungle

Students in Nursery through Kinder enjoyed the play Adventures in the Jungle. La Tourné performed two shows which were directed towards two different age groups; Kinder and Nursery, and PK1 and PK2. The play was in English and the Preschool students enjoyed the experience of having a play come to ASV. They will have another excursions to the Teatro Estrella in February 2017 for PK1 to Kinder, where they will see Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Theater Week!

3th and 4th Grade will see a theater play based on the Middle Eastern folk tale “Aladdin” on Monday morning at the ASV Theater. Their classmates in 1st and 2nd Grades will enjoy a fun version of “The Three Little Pigs" on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. We encourage all parents to take the opportunity to review these popular stories with their children.

Being safe online. New talk  for 4th Graders

6th Grade Ski Trip

6.1 and 6.2 had the traditional 6th Grade Ski Trip this week. Students enjoyed five days in Espot, a small and comfortable station in Lleida. The Intense snowfalls happened the week before left outstanding conditions for skiing. On Tuesday the ASV group had the first ski classes;. all of the students, even the beginners, enjoyed that time. The entire group progressed and on Thursday all of the students skied blue slopes; in the afternoon the visited the village. Weather was not good on Friday morning and they just had a hot chocolate at the Espot café. At 15:00 the bus departed to Valencia, arriving safe and sound at 23:00 h.

The Tobacco Workshop

Once again, a team from Conselleria de Sanitat visited ASV to give a workshop on tobacco. Students in 7th grade learned about the components of tobacco, how it creates addiction, and the negative effects on health. The activity includes two practical demonstrations: the model of a house showing how long smoke stays on walls after a long exposition, and two lungs made of foam to see the effect of tobacco on this part of the body.
