Reading Week

ASV is celebrating the Reading Week from April 18 to 22, 2016. We are planning the following activities:
  • Book Fair in the Atrium with Leolo Books. From April 18 to 20. Books for all ages.
  • Author and Illustrator Ree Gillett will be performing songs and reading her stories to students. Her books and CD’s will be on sale on April 21 and 22.
  • San Jordi – Flower Sale on April 21. Roses & Carnations will be available to pre-order during the previous week (April 11 to 15).
Other activities to be confirmed. Join us to this celebration of reading and books!

Celebrating our 35th Anniversary with the ASV Graduates

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of American School of Valencia, we are preparing an alumni reunion where this part of the community will be recognised for its contribution to our history. ASV graduates are invited to attend an encounter with former schoolmates and teachers on Friday, April 22 at 18:00 h. During the event the ASV Alumni Association will be officially presented. Interested graduates may find additional information on the school website, as well as they can confirm their participation by using this on line form. 
Enrollment for the ASV Summer Program 2016 opened on March 1, 2016 and now, five weeks later, more than 50% of the places are covered.

Interested families can find informative brochures in our campus or, on Sunday, April 10, visit the ASV stand at the event Feria de Ocio in Jardines de Viveros, Valencia.

Feria de los Colegios

ASV exhibits at the Feria de los Colegios, a new event in Valencia where families looking for school can receive individual information directly from their staff. Throughout this weekend, April 9 and 10, we will have an informative stand where our team will present the ASV academic program offering multilingual, international education. New Trip within the Students Exchanges

ASV Students travel to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Saturday, April 9, to enjoy their stay in the Foxborough Regional Charter School as part of the Global Exchange Program stablished between ASV and FRCS. We wish them a great time there!

The Global Exchange Program is being a rewarding experience not only for students, but also for ASV families who welcome a new friend. Some of those who hosted a CSN student in March commented their experience on the school website.

Women Race 2016 Updates

Registrations are closed, finally 110 ASV women will represent our school on the Woman Race that will take place on Sunday, April 17, 2016. We will run 7,800 meters, find the itinerary here and come and cheer for us!!
If you are one of the registered women please remember to pick up your dorsal number and t-shirt on Friday, April 15, at the school from 15:30 to 17 h.
Report card folders for Preschool students went home on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Please, return the signed folders to the school.
Preschool teachers are ready for the Parent Conferences from April 11 to 19, 2016. Remember these individual meetings with families are scheduled by using a new system based on Google Calendar and any Google account.
We wish to welcome to our school a new collaborating teacher coming from the University of Kentucky, in the United States. Ms. Kaitlin Meyer will complete her training while supports our 5W teacher, Ms. Mary Cass.
Report card folders went home on Wednesday, March 23. Remember students must return the signed folders to the school.

Our Varsity Teams, Winner and Runner up of the AMAC Soccer Tournament

During the Easter holidays ASV competed for the first time in the AMAC Soccer Tournament in Albir near Benidorm. The tournament featured three days of football for boys and girls varsity teams from five international schools. Successful Opening of the IB Visual Arts Exhibition

Four ASV students taking the course Visual Arts in the IB Diploma Program prepared an art exhibition that was officially opened today. This is the first time the event was taken to Valencia, to an art gallery (Princesa.2.0, C/ Moro Zeit,  2). It was an exquisite exhibit, well attended by ASV staff, students and the general public. Congratulations to Madison Beam, Dagur Sigurdarson, Carmen Montemayor, and Paula de Diego for this achievement. You can enjoy part of their work on the ASV website.


14 students are in Madrid taking part in the MUN conference MADMUN 2016. We hope them an enjoyable experience there!

Field Trip to the Museum of Science

56 Grade 10 students visited today the Museum of Science. They attended some educational workshops describing scientific facts.

Olympiad on April 9. 

Tomorrow ASV+ will celebrate its second Olympiad at ASV facilities from 10:00 to 13:00. We have 70 student-athletes confirmed for this event. Who will win a Golden medal? More details to follow through the school’s twitter and in ASV+ Google site.


1-3 grade student-athletes have been invited to play against Cumbres School at Cumbres School facilities on Friday, April 15 at 17:30. Fill in this Google Form if you haven’t done it yet.


  • Cambridge House will be playing against our ASV+ basketball team from 4-6 grade and a 6 grade girls team on Thursday, April 14 from 15:30 to 17:00. Come and cheer!!
  • Our Boy’s Varsity Basketball team will play against Morvedre BC on Thursday, April 14 from 17:45 to 19:00. Come and cheer!
  • Our ASV+ Basketball team from 1-3 grade are invited to participate on the third event of the VIII Trobada Escoles de Bàsquet. If you haven’t done it yet please fill in this Google Form.
The Third Annual ASV Foundation Barbecue will take place on Friday, May 20, 2016.  Please place this fun and worthwhile event on your calendars now and stay tuned for more information.

The enrollment process for the school year 2016-2017 in open. Please, contact the school office if you have children born in 2013, 2014, and 2015 and they are not enrolled in the ASV.
