ASV Foundation Halloween Party

On Friday, October 28, 2016, the American School of Valencia Foundation organized the 3rd Halloween Party in our campus. Many people came to enjoy the Haunted House and other activities such as the Halloween area for young children, in 1st and 2nd grade, or the magic show, at the theater.

We want to appreciate multiple contributions from:
  • The sponsors: Aquaservice and, Colevisa, partners which provided with food and drinks. Foto estudio de Castro, who took pictures during the event.
  • The ASVF Board, for leading the preparations.
  • Mr. Mike Melin, Mr. Marc Boyer, Ms. Lauren Guerra, staff and students volunteers. The artistic design of the haunted house was amazing.
  • The ASV Maintenance Staff, who did an amazing work building the Haunted House.
  • Multiple parent volunteers and the ASV staff in their different roles.
  • Other volunteers preparing and supervising the Halloween children area.

Introducing the New ASV Logo

ASV is pleased to share with its school community the introduction of the new ASV logo.  The school will be implementing and updating various areas of the school with the new logo over the coming months.

The new logo (shown above) is a graphic evolution of the colored hexagon logo used since 1998.  The new logo has a contemporary look, which retains the hexagon concept, yet is clean and compact, uses the ASV acronym, the school name, as well as the IB World School designation.

The administration team has been collaborating with an external agency for one year on this project, and the updated logo will enhance all of our visual communications, putting the emphasis on the union of the three school divisions and the proximity to the school community. The new brand will be soon visible on multiple digital and physical supports.

Welcome to the New Athletic Field

The construction of a new multi-sport athletic field is finished and students will begin to use this new area of the athletic facilities on Monday, November 7, 2016.  The high-performance artificial turf is setup for both soccer and field hockey. It also has multiple goal areas, a technical area, direct access into the new locker rooms of the Athletic Center and seating on the east side. The connection with the Athletic Center is finished, including an impressive stairway passing under the new dining hall.

ASV is organizing an inauguration ceremony of the new facilities and all ASV families will be informed and invited when the date and time are established.

The ASV MUN Team is working on the preparations of the upcoming conference  VALMUN 2016. While some members must review multiple logistic aspects necessary to host over 120 delegates and 50 other participants, the ASV delegates have weekly meetings to review their research based on the conference topics. Students also write drafts for their resolutions and rehearse their speeches, following official MUN proceedings. In the upcoming weeks students will be focusing on debating skills.  Find on www.asvalencia.org/valmun more information on the conference structure, topics, and ASV students having specific responsibilities such as secretary general, deputy secretary general, and chairs of committees.
