VALMUN Delegates Arrived at the ASV


Students from six international schools came to attend the MUN conference VALMUN. The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 21, at 9:30 and afterwards delegates will be working in the assigned committees. Erma Anderson, international math consultant visited ASV this week to work with our teachers and students. She was impressed with the overall classroom instruction and even plans to share some resources we shared with the teachers at her next conference in Bangkok. She also presented a workshop at the MAIS (Mediterranean Association of International Schools) Conference in Barcelona this past week. There she was presented  the MAIS International Educator Award, pictured above, from left to right, they are: Ms. Reina O´Hale, Executive Director of MAIS; Mr. Mark Pingitore, President of the MAIS Board and Director of the American School of Barcelona; Mr. Walid Abushakra, Chairman, Esol Education; Ms. Erma Anderson, Award Winner and International Math Educator; and Dr. Bea Cameron, Regional Education Officer, US Department of State. We are very fortunate to have such esteemed educators to work with us.

ASV Winners in the Holiday Greeting Card Competition organized by Copuzol


We would like to congratulate Miriam (Kinder, on the left) and Gloria (2th Grade, on the right), the two students awarded in the Holiday Greeting Card Competition 'Dolç Nadal', organized by Copuzol. Both students and our teacher Ms. Maribel, attended the official opening of the exhibition on Thursday afternoon in Puçol. Find some photos on Puçol.es.

Dental Check Up on December 4


The Dental check- up for Kindergarden and Grade 6 students will take place at school on Friday December 4th  with the collaboration of the personnel of the Health Center of Puçol. Please, if you have any question, contact Ms. Inma at school.

Parent Conferences from Pre Kinder 2 through 6th Grade


Parent teacher conferences will be scheduled via Google Calendar this year, taking advantage of the efficiency of that platform. Learn how to book your appointment on this announcement made by the Preschool and Elementary Principal, Dr. Adam Spina.

Decorating the School and the Theater for Holidays. Call for Volunteers


Parents interested in volunteering to decorate the school and/or theater for the holidays can contact Ms. Mila Casalvázquez for more information. Our goal is to have the decorations in place prior to the first winter concert on December 1st.  There will be a planning meeting on Wednesday, 25 November at 15:25.  Ms. Mila will meet interested parents at the entrance of the school. The goal of the meeting is to decide upon decorations, create a list a needed materials, and finalize the dates and times to complete the setup.

Two ASV teams Move to Round 2 of the Competition 'Generation €uro'

 
Mr. Mervin Eyler and Mr. Mario Muñoz are assisting some High School students in the 2015-2016 Generation €uro Students' Award Contest, a student-aimed competition organized by the European Central Bank. Two teams representing ASV have completed the first round with scores of 100%. Soccer and Basketball. First Games for ASV+ Students within the School Day


On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 55 students from Los Olivos English School and 29 from the ASV+ Program came together to play several soccer and basketball games. Meet Ms. Escarlata Casas, ASV+ Coordinator, and Mr. Phil Buglas, PE teacher in Los Olivos, commenting the goal of this activity and the nice spirit children showed.

Elementary Student Council is Selling ASV Bags for Kapita School


As of Monday, November 16, the Elementary Student Council is selling blue bags where ASV students can leave a personal message for a child in Kapita School. We hope to reach our goal, 350 bags, to make possible that each student can have an ASV small school bag. Thank you for your continuing support!

Third Grade helping Kapita School


From September 2015 until June 2016 we will be holding several fundraising opportunities to support Kapita School.  Consequently, every month, the ASV Foundation is requesting that a different grade level provide food donations that will be sold at school on Tuesdays.

Third  grade is requested to bring in their food donations on Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24.  They will conduct all sales in the school atrium Tuesday November 24. 

Please donate:
  • Homemade cookies, brownies, cakes, or desserts
  • Store bought and individually wrapped cookies or snacks
  • Potato chips (any kind)

Students in all grades and families attending the ASV Winter Concerts are invited to visit the Book Fair at the school atrium according to this schedule: 

December 1, 2015. Book fair from 13 to 17 h.
December 11, 2015. Book fair from 11 to 17 h.
Debember 15, 2015. Book fair from 13 to 17 h.
December 16, 2015. Book fair from 11 to 17 h.

Enrollment for the School Year 2016-2017 

 

The enrollment process for the school year 2016-2017 in open. Please, contact the school office if you have children born in 2012, 2013, and 2014 and they are not enrolled in the ASV.
