Learning about Zambia. Mr. Gilbert Mwale at ASV this week
Mr. Gilbert Mwale spoke to all the Elementary classes and 10th grade and the students learned about Mwfue culture. He explained the current problem in his community with the lack of water and how donations are helping to find a new source of water for the community and Kapita School, plus help with the materials needed for the school building to be completed this spring.

Festive Baskets for Pasalo Puzol
We are holding a special campaign in partnership with Pásalo Puzol to provide a festive basket for local families with very few resources. Elementary and Preschool classes are creating food baskets while High School must prepare special gift box of toiletries. Students can bring their contributions no later than Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Thank you for your continuous support! |

Google Certification Workshop
American School is organizing a Google Certification Workshop on December 12 and 13, 2015 for 18 staff members. This training conducted by Mr. Kevin Tracy, offering a comprehensive overview of the use of Google tools in the classroom. After completing the workshop, participants will be ready to take the exam and become a Google Certified Educator Level 1.

Preschool Winter Concert
On Wednesday, December 16, from 14:00 to 15:30 ASV celebrates the Preschool Winter Concert. Please check the Google Site of your child’s teacher for updates. If you plan on taking your child home after the concert, use the Google Form from the office to notify the school of this arrangement. |

Picasso Exhibition made by ESL Students
The Elementary students at ESL (Spanish as Second Language) learned much about Pablo Picasso during the first trimester of the school year. The group read and researched about this famous artist and, finally, painted a picture inspired in one of his creative phases. Students works are now exhibited in the atrium. Their teacher, Ms. Ana Arjona, invites all of us to enjoy it.

Alumni Talks
The High School Counseling Service organized the annual encounter with students and ASV graduates. Five alumni (Escarlata Casas, Juan Camilo, Alejandro Chaqués, Alejandro Carbonell, and Pablo Perea) attended this activity and introduced their studies after graduating from our school.

Teacher's Day at the European Central Bank
On November 27, 2015 Mr. Mervin Eyler and Mr. Mario Muñoz visited this institution and received important information about the second stage of the student competition Generation Euro. Remember that two ASV teams are taking part of this activity and completed the first stage with scores of 100%. The students must complete before February 2016 a Monetary Policy Essay. |

It is Progress Report time! Friday, December 11 is the mid-point in the second trimester for grade 12 students . Please take a moment to view your child´s progress in each subject in PowerSchool. The enrollment process for the school year 2016-2017 in open. Please, contact the school office if you have children born in 2012, 2013, and 2014 and they are not enrolled in the ASV.
