Second Week of the Exchange with Foxborough Regional Charter School

ASV students and their exchange peers in Foxborough Regional Charter School enjoyed this week the Spring Break. These days off the group had time for interesting activities such as excursions to Boston, a relevant city in the American history, Newport, and New York. Part of them visited colleges in the surrounding area (like Harvard, as this picture shows). The FRCS community also celebrated a special dinner, where our students were invited.

Warm Welcome to the new ASV Alumni Association

Sixty ASV graduates attended the official presentation of the Alumni Association held today at 18:00 at the school theater.

Francisco Estela, representing the Board of Governors, and Michael L. Smith, director of the school, welcomed participants with their opening speeches. After this introduction, the Alumni Coordinator, Josep Vicent Frechina, described how former students have been in touch with the school since 1993, when the first graduating class left ASV, and described the process American School of Valencia is completing to refound the Alumni Association.

Three members of the ASV faculty -Marc Boyer, Cristina Jofre, and Escarlata Casas- added their voices to the presentation. After this part of the event, Mr. Boyer guided the group around the school campus, describing the most recent changes, and the group enjoyed some refreshments at the dining hall.

Preparing Staff Appreciation Luncheon

On Thursday, May 5, 2016 we are preparing an Appreciation Luncheon for faculty and staff at ASV. We are requesting donations from ASV families of homemade dishes or, if you wish, bought dishes to be shared at this special luncheon. We invite you to show off your culinary skills and your gastronomic knowledge and to bring your dish on May 5, 2016.

Read on the school website some instructions and find the online form needed to communicate your participation.

Clothes for the Children's Home in Gandía

Next Thursday, April 28 some 11th Grade students are going to Children’s Home in Gandia. The main objective of their visit is to give clothes for kids and organize sport activities for them.

On behalf of this group, we describe how the school community can support their action:

  • ASV families can bring clothes for kids between ages of 3 - 11 years old, which they don’t need anymore, but are in a good condition. Please bring the clothes in a bag, so we can easily collect it.
  • Starting next Monday, April 25, students can start bringing clothes to their advisory rooms or to collection boxes located at the entrance to the elementary and preschool buildings. The collection will be open until the end of classes on Tuesday.

Thank you for your contribution.

We are pleased with the outstanding enrollment in the Summer Program 2016. Remember on April 29, 2016 the special promotion finishes.
