As our programming season and fiscal year start up again with a Technology Sector panel and an informative discussion about Robo-advisors, I’d like to update you on a few of our society’s other initiatives.
The ASFIP Foundation, a separate entity that we created last year, recently received 501(c)(3) status. By pooling the time and donations of our members towards a common goal, we believe the Foundation has potential to significantly increase financial knowledge in the Atlanta community and improve the public perception of our industry. Please commit this year to volunteer or donate to the cause.
Women in Investment Management will be a key theme this year as we work together with the CFA Institute and other member societies with the shared goals of
recruiting more women to the industry,
encouraging their career development and retention, and
creating demand for women as investment decision makers by increasing awareness of the strong business case to be made for their inclusion.
Find a CFA® Charterholder – don’t forget to update your member profile so that potential clients can find you through our website.
Virtual Events – In addition to visiting our YouTube page, which hosts an archive of almost all of our event content from last year forward, keep an eye out for timely conference calls. We have heard great feedback from those members who have trouble physically making it to our events and we are committed to continuing this new way of providing content this year.
Marketing – we will continue to dedicate significant resources and efforts to boosting the brand of both ASFIP membership and the CFA® designation in Georgia. Help us by spreading the word among investors about the Statement of Investor Rights and the Guide to Realizing Your Rights, a great questionnaire for any investor to use when choosing an investment professional.
There’s much more to come on all of these initiatives. Stay in touch by following us on Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, or simply checking our website from time to time. I look forward to seeing you, volunteering with you, and hearing from you.
