As VP of Education of the ASFIP, I would like to take this opportunity to bring our members up to date on what the Education team has been working on, and in general the latest developments.

ASFIP Education Initiatives
The Education Committee has been working with multiple vendors and negotiating discounts for our members. The discounts are for courses that help in preparing for the CFA exam, as well as to enhance comprehension of various topics (e.g., Corporate Finance, Financial Modeling). If you are interested, please visit our webpage.
CFA Study Groups – CFA candidates are invited to join free informal study groups that can help them meet and work with other local ASFIP members while studying for the same CFA exam level.
Please mark your calendar and register for the “So You Want to Be a CFA Charter Holder” event. It is scheduled for November 16th at 5:30 pm. This gathering allows CFA charter holders to share their experiences with aspiring candidates, and even people who may be undecided about whether taking the CFA exams is right for them.
CFA Mock Exams - The Kaplan Schweser mock exam for the December Level I is scheduled for November 12. Join us if you are interested in practicing taking the exam prior to the big day.
ASFIP is actively participating in the CFAI scholarship initiatives, and will be helping CFAI to select this year's recipients of the Access Scholarships (Access Scholarships are awarded on or before December 1st, to be applied to exams in the following year).
Three scholarships sponsored by Kaplan Schweser were awarded by ASFIP for the year 2016. We will continue working with Kaplan Schweser in 2017, and will announce the number of scholarships and their application deadlines at a later date.
After the success of the UGA team, the winner of the 2016 Southern Classic and the Regional Research Challenge, ASFIP is looking forward to this year. The Research Challenge Committee is currently recruiting participating schools, volunteers, as well working on the schedule and logistics of the event. If you are interested in in volunteering for this initiative, please contact us at email@example.com.
The team is working on building relationships with local universities, and will be conducting events where students will be able to learn more about the CFA designation.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have any questions or are interested in participating in any events or volunteering for these initiatives. Keep in mind that our updates and useful links can always be found on our website.
