Class of ’62 Award – Dr. Rob Hammond

The Class of ’62 Award is given annually, at Medicine Convocation, to a faculty member who has been selected by the students of the graduating class. The criteria states that the award is "presented to the Faculty member who, in the opinion of the class, has contributed the most to the medical school in the previous four years."

The award was bestowed upon Dr. Rob Hammond, by Dean Michael Strong at the Medical Convocation ceremony on May 13, 2016.   The following is a short excerpt from Dr. Hammond’s nomination: “From the admission ceremony, to the white coat ceremony, to our final years, Dr. Hammond has been with the class of 2016. He has acted as a mentor in not only medicine, but also as an ambassador to the Schulich hockey and curling leagues. He never fails to come to a class event and has been a consistent morale booster for our class throughout the difficult times of third and fourth year. We have been honored to have him as a class president and hope to honour him with this award.”
