Welcome to the new PaLM Post!

We're excited to unveil our monthly email newsletter called PaLM Post! The new publication will feature all the latest news and events happening around the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. We have moved publication listings to a new home here; new publications will be posted on a weekly basis.

After travelling around the world, Martin Duennwald, PhD, has settled at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and is now enjoying doing research the “Canadian Way” – through a spirit of collaboration.

Congratulations to all our 2014 Long Service Award Recipients spanning from 10 to 40 years of service.

Effective immediately the name of our academic department has changed to the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Effective July 1, 2014, eight medical chemists, who have already held clinical appointments with us, have officially joined our department as full time academic faculty members. Phaedra Henley, PhD
Supervisor:  Dr. Jack Bend
Phaedra is beginning her Postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Irena Creed here at Western University, and will also be a Program Coordinator for the Africa Institute.
 
Arthur Lau, PhD
Supervisor:  Dr. Anthony Jevnikar and Dr. Zhu-xu Zhang
Arthur has started a Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary.
 
Rokhsana Mortuza, PhD
Supervisor:  Dr. Subrata Chakrabarti
Rokhsana is currently considering a number of options.
 
Alex Pavlosky, MSc
Supervisors:  Dr. Anthony Jevnikar and Dr. Zhu-xu Zhang
Alex is working as a Research Assistant with Dr. Zhu-xu Zhang.
 
Matt Riopel, PhD
Supervisor:  Dr. Rennian Wang
Matt has started a Postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Jerold M. Olefsky at the University of California.
 
Mike Ruiz, MSc
Supervisor:  Dr. Subrata Chakrabarti
Mike has started his MD Degree at the University of Toronto.
