New USDA Project: Drought and Water Quality
CEES research affiliate, Dr. Pierre-Andre Jacinthe, recently received funding as lead-PI from the USDA to examine the impact of drought and agricultural tillage practices on water quality in the Eagle Creek watershed of Indiana. Dr. Jacinthe and colleagues from IUPUI, Purdue, and the State Climatology office hope to use the data to educate Indiana farmers on best environmental and economic decisions for their farms. Learn more about the project here.
Service Learning Examined
CEES staff, interns, and faculty affiliates are working with Faculty Development Director, Dr. Mary Price, to analyze CEES' service learning program and create measurements of impact.  This process has included clearly defining learning objectives for participants, altering the registration process for better data collection and tracking, and developing an environmental knowledge survey.  Some of these changes will be piloted beginning with the spring 2015 service learning events.  Special thanks to Dr. Price who has been so incredibly helpful throughout this process!
