Refresh Annapolis Valley - Redefining Work: Coworking 

There is lots of buzz around coworking spaces as a new way for independent and SME creative professionals to engage work. Coworking is about shared office space for professionals, but it is also about a style of work that suggests there are greater opportunities working in a diverse community setting. Coworking spaces themself are diverse in structure, ranging from the community powered, real-estate centric, to highbred business incubators.

In rural Nova Scotia, numerous coworking spaces are springing up. The HUB South Shore in Mahone Bay, L-Ink'd in Annapolis Royal, CO3 in Bridgewater, The Hub Yarmouth, The Hub Annapolis Valley, the Rural Innovation Centre at Acadia University. Wow!

launchbox Awards $10k in Entrepreneurship Competition

Wolfville NS - March 21, 2016

Over 29 hours, seven teams worked tirelessly to solve industry problems for a chance to win the three top prizes.

“Start It Up provides an opportunity for Acadia students, grads, community members, entrepreneurs, and students to experience entrepreneurship, from idea generation through to pitching a solution,” said Findlay MacRae, Executive Director of the Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre. “Our hope is that by solving current problems faced by Nova Scotian businesses, we can see entrepreneurs launch new businesses and help support the rural economy.

launchbox - Who we are

launchbox is based at Acadia University and supports all areas of entrepreneurship - innovative, social or business.  

We support students through a learning-focused community of mentors and like-minded peers.

Come tour launchbox and chat about your next business adventure.  launchbox is partnered with Cultiv8, which is based out of Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS.

Together we are working to provide a space for all students who are interested in entrepreneurship.  Cultiv8 will offer agriculture and agri-food focused sessions at Acadia throughout the Winter semester.
