UTD CSER and Wake Forest School of Medicine Receive MSP Grant
We are excited to announce that our partnership with Wake Forest School of Medicine and the Piedmont Triad Educational Consortium (PTEC) has been awarded a 3-year, 1.6 million dollar grant to create a Mathematics and Leadership Institute. More details on this grant can be found in this press release. Additional details about what this partnership provides school districts is below!
Problem and Project-Based Resources
Over the last four years, UTD CSER has been committed to offering Institutes that support teachers and leaders in the implementation and design of problem and project-based learning. Now, with a new partnership with Wake Forest School of Medicine, CSER can now extend this support by offering teachers PBL resources for their subject and grade level.  These resources are classroom-ready and come with our Summer Inquiry Institute training. Click here to view a few examples of our resources!

Registration is now open for our Summer Inquiry Institute to be held June 15-19, 2015.

High-Impact Strategies
A few weeks ago, we finished our High-Impact Strategies series with a workshop dedicated to Community Building. Over the course of the series, we had 60 dedicated teachers and leaders participate in the workshops. We would like to thank these educators for sharing your knowledge and experiences. One of the strategies we focused on was how to ask questions effectively. In the video above, Jim Knight talks about when to use open and closed questions in a classroom.
We have two workshops at the Trinity River Audubon Center (TRAC) during the month of May! On Saturday, May 23rd, join us for Birds on the Water where we will kayak down the Trinity River while learning about its history and the wildlife that call it home. Then it's time for another Owl Prowl on Friday, May 29th! Not only will we learn about this nocturnal predator, we will explore the property in search of these fascinating creatures.

TRAC is also hosting their 6th annual spring fundraiser, Scissor-tails & Cocktails, on Thursday, May 14th from 6:30 - 9:00 PM. This celebration benefits TRAC's hands-on, education programs through treats from celebrity chefs, s'mores, birds of prey, music, and a silent auction. Click here to buy tickets!
