We're delighted to share that we just wrapped the 2016 SOFI Workshop, a two-day event that called on chosen applicants to discuss new and creative ways to bring solar fuels technology to market. The workshop brought together early career scientists from our member organizations and special guests including the Scientific Attaché from The French Consulate in Chicago, a founding partner at Opus12, the President of Catalytic Innovations, agents from Michael Best and Friedrich LLP, and a partner at Bain & Company, where the event was held.
We took this great opportunity to get some more eyes on the SOFI Knowledge Map and came away with feedback and new ideas for increased collaboration among academics and innovators. This feedback came right on the heels of the American Chemical Society's announcement that they will create a pre-publication server for chemistry research called ChemRxiv. We're excited about what pre-publishing may mean for collaboration, invention, and innovation within the field of chemistry
Last, but not least we'll be bringing you a special "back to school" edition of the SOFI Newsletter in September, so make sure to look out for that!

SOFI Summer Workshop
We asked participants to step back from the lab bench and look for ways current solar fuels technology could be brought into the market place.
