Mitcham Shine Week 2016
We were privileged to be a part of this summer's Mitcham Shine Week, coordinated by Kristina Burton (Mitcham Town Community Trust).
The project, based at Bond Primary School, offers local children the chance to take part in a whole range of activities, from gardening to a dance masterclass! Nine members of our team, led by Michelle, worked with 50 local primary school children to teach them about diet, healthy foods, food preparation, gardening and bio-diversity.
Find out more about what the children got up to during the week's cooking sessions and take a look at some of the highlights in our photo gallery HERE >>

NCS The Challenge Community Action Day!
Working with The Challenge is fast becoming a tradition for us and this year we had a busy day with them at Phipps Bridge Community Garden.
On what was a very hot day, the Challenge team (left) managed to transform our composting area, weed several beds and dig over two very tough areas of weedy grass.
We even had time to show them how to brew tea in our fantastic Kelly Kettles.
We are grateful to all the young volunteers we have worked with over the past four years and look forward to working with them again next year.' - Tom Walsh

YMCA Wimbledon Consultation
Your views are needed to help develop plans for a new and improved YMCA Wimbledon building fit for future generations.
YMCA Wimbledon has served the community for over 137 years but the building, built in the 1970′s, is in need of an upgrade. The aim is to deliver a more sustainable YMCA for Wimbledon, with improved facilities and an expanded range of children's services.

Join your local Jumble Trail on Sunday 9th October!
Jumble Trail Champion for Wandsworth - Guy Dorrell, tells us more...
A Jumble Trail is a bit like a collective “yard sale” where lots of people in a small area of a neighbourhood bring their unwanted household items out into their front gardens on a particular day to sell to neighbours and visitors. The Jumble Trail web site publishes a map of all the households participating, so as a visitor, you can plan a route round as many as you can manage.
Usually there’s a small fee for each household participating but Wandsworth's first Jumble Trail is being sponsored by Recycle for London, so is free to join. Merton residents can also join in the fun by signing up to the Colliers Wood event.
Find out more about the community street sale scheme and how to take part here >>>

I took part in a number of community action days and saw how full of life members of the charity and public were. I was glad to see local residents of all ages getting involved with the activities."
