Health and Human Barbara-Ann Hamilton-Hinch, graduating with her PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, has a long history with Dalhousie: she's an alumna now three times over, helped found the Imhotep's Legacy Academy and has served as Dal's Black student advisor.
 
Formerly known as the Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre, Dal's Healthy Populations Institute is tackling illness prevention and health promotion issues locally and globally.
 
FHP Celebrates Teaching and Research Excellence with annual awards
Each year, the Faculty of Health Professions recognizes teaching and research excellence by granting peer-nominated awards at the Spring Full Faculty meeting.
 
Dr. Lois Jackson receives Patricia Cleave Award for Outstanding Leadership
Dr. Lois Jackson has received the Patricia Cleave Award for Outstanding Leadership in recognition of her role in the transformation of the Atlantic Health Promtion Research Centre into the Healthy Populations Institute.
 
Since accepting its first student in May 2015, the new PhD in Health Program has had a stellar first year, exceeding expectations in both enrollment and student achievement.
 
Dalhousie's School of Occupational Therapy recently welcomed Dr. Johanne Desrosiers as the first Townsend Fellow in Occupation and Society.
 
The Canadian National Occupational Therapists’ annual conference in Banff, Alberta was the backdrop for the recent launch of Dr. Niki Kiepek’s new book, Licit, Illicit, Prescribed: Substance Use and Occupational Therapy.
 
Congratulations to staff, students, faculty, alumni and friends on their recent acheivements.
 
Congratulations to Nursing PhD student Britney Benoit, this year’s recipient of the Faculty of Health Professions Graduate Student Excellence in Research Award.
